I am officially home from the Oregon Coast Photography tour. I had a wonderful time! Learned a lot of new things and met some great people! I'm slowly going to be adding photos over the next week, so please check back once in a while to see if anything is new. In the meantime, here are a few photos from my trip.
This photo was taken from the backseat of a van! When the timing is perfect, you don't have time to jump out and set up your equipment! I saw what was happening and quickly captured it. This is probably one of my favorite photos from the trip. The fog was so thick, it had this bronze glow from the sun and with the reflections in the water, it just made for a perfect scene.
I took this photo at Lady Bird Johnson Grove. I didn't think I was going to have any good photos from this place, the lighting just wasn't right, but when I came across this, I was instantly in love. I feel like the tree is alive and the limbs are it's arms. Pretty soon it will be throwing apples at me!
Now for my favorite photo. This was taken at Crater Lake. We had gone out hopefully to capture the Northern Lights, because they were supposed to be active that night. They never showed, but I was able to experience one of the greatest things of my life. I had never seen the Milky Way before. Where I live, we can see stars, but they still are not this bright because of the light pollution. As soon as we got out of the vans and got all of the lights turned off, I saw those stars and my jaw dropped. It's pretty amazing to see all of those stars, really makes you feel so small. Now I am addicted and need to see the night sky like this again.
