I ended up buying the Canon EOS 6D the first weekend in January. I haven't gotten to go out to shoot with it at all until this weekend! It is wonderful! I can tell a huge difference between it and my Canon Rebel XS! I got up early this last Saturday with my mom and we headed towards "my tree" to shoot the sunrise. I didn't have high hopes for a beautiful sunrise because the last few times we've been out, it's been disappointing. I was wrong! It ended up being a perfect morning! This photo I took with the 6D and my Tamron 24-70mm.
We left the tree and headed towards the Mackinaw River. We got down there at the perfect time as the sun was beginning to rise over the trees. It lit up the ice on the river perfectly. Again, this photo was taken with the 6D and the Tamron 24-70mm.
It was a cool 12 degrees, but it did not feel it at all. There was zero wind, so it was perfect weather for winter photographing!
One thing I was disappointed about with the 6D was the battery. I had put it on the charger the night before, but it must not of been tight. When I woke up the light was flashing very fast, which it's not supposed to do. It died on my shortly after I took this photo, which I was irritated about, but okay with because I felt that I got my shot. I just have to make sure it's fully on the charger next time.
Overall, I love the camera. I have a lot of learning with it still since I've never used a full-frame, but I am happy with my purchase!
